Ongoing Offerings

St. Margarets Bay Shambhala Centre offers an array of weekly ongoing offerings free to the public. No prior meditation experience required to attend. Most programs offer meditation instruction upon request. All are welcome.

Open Public Sitting Hours

Sunday Community Meditation Practice
Sunday  9:30 AM — 12:00 PM
Everyone if invited to practice sitting meditation and walking meditation on Sunday mornings for as long as you like.

The practice begins at 9:30 am with chants (copies provided).

Initial meditation instruction is provided regularly on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm along with meditation. Or you can contact Alice Haspray at (902) 826-1158 or [email protected] to arrange an alternative time for individual instruction.

Tuesday Night Open House

Please join us on Tuesday evenings for an introduction to meditation.

Meditation instruction and practice, along with relevant teachings and discussion, are led by a senior practitioner of the Shambhala community.  Come and learn about the variety of programs and opportunities for practice offered here.

No previous experience with meditation is required. The program is free and open to the public, and drop-ins are welcomed each week. Books are not required, but offered for purchase if you wish.

Initial Meditation Instruction available at 7:00 pm each Wednesday evening. Everyone is welcome to attend and you may leave at any point of the evening.

  • 7:00 – 8:00 pm – Introductory meditation instruction, sitting and walking meditation practice.
  • 8:00 – 8:30 pm – Reading, contemplation and discussion.

 

Please do not wear scented personal care products to the centre. There is a medical service dog working in the community. Please 100% ignore the service dog for the safety and independence of the owner.
